It's an abomination, I tell you!

One of the toilets in my new house (which we have not moved into yet) has one of these.  Now call me silly but if you give me choices for the toi toi, explain those choices to me!


Being raised with the idea that a strong flush was to be admired, this is confusing to me. I thought the idea was to take anything deposited in the uh .. bowl .. and whoosh it away quickly and without leaving any um .. residue .. behind. Behind. Heh. But from what I have read (yes, I googled my toilet) there are 2 buttons, one for liquids and one for solids. I know, right? But the 2 buttons do not say anything on them and I cannot tell the difference when I flush it. My daughter and I stood there and flushed it both ways and ended up walking away shrugging our shoulders. 


The interwebs said that for "dual flush" toilets the bigger button is usually for solids. But somewhere else I read that the blue button is for solids. 


This may be something I can't do. Environmentalists - I'm freaking sorry. But I might have to send away to Canada which I hear still sells the large tank, awesome flushing, water wasting toilets - and have one sent down. A toilet just shouldn't be .. dainty .. about flushing.


I've been know to tell people "you have to pick your battles".  This may be one I have to fight.

Keep your hands off my peeps!

OMG! OMG! OMG! I just heard on TV that due to the results of studies that show that sugar affects the same part of the brain that alcohol does and eating it makes people want it more and more ..that some lawmakers are considering trying to *sob!!!* regulate sugar! Like more taxes, a drinking age for pop, and other ridiculous guidelines. 

Do you hear the panic? Can you sense the beads of sweat popping out on my forehead? Do you think they're right? Am I addicted?


Actually, I know I am. But the point is, it's my issue to deal with. I don't drive over the center line in traffic while eating sugar. I don't polute the air people near me are breathing while consuming sweets. It is my addiction and if the government tries to stick their fingers in it they have no idea who they are dealing with.


Just sayin'.

My castle

It's a split level with 3 bedrooms up and 1 down. (yes, stairs!!)  Original wood floors upstairs and new carpet down. New cabinets and paint and even the bushes in front of the house have the tags on them. There is a full fenced yard for my grandpuppy and the house backs up to a park. Tee hee!!  Yes, I want to add shutters, I need to hang window treatments in every. single. room. The bathroom needs a fan.  In time, it will all happen. But it's mine. All of it.


It's a flip done by a rehabbing company that bought the house, gutted it and gave me an almost new house that was built in 1966. Exciting?  Yes, very!


Are we moved in?  Well.. there are 2 boxes packed, I've gone through my closet and have 3 bags for Goodwill or for someone who will come pick them up. I bought new litter boxes and brought them over to the new house today but beyond that .. no.


My son has never been good with change, and as I have mentioned to several people apparently he thinks the back of this house is the womb. He was slow to come out of there too! He hasn't even seen the new house and seems to have no interest.  BUZZ KILL!


My rent for February is paid, I don't have to make a mortgage payment until March, I'm going to take my time and try not to take anything with me I'm going to want to get rid of anyway.  And frankly, I was unwilling to pack a thing until I knew it was really true.

It will be a process.


WOO FREAKING HOO!!!


And one of the best parts?  More room, nicer place, and my mortgage payments (including taxes and insurance) will be about $350.00 less a month than my rent has been for the last 7 years and my interest rate is fabulous.  Hard to beat that!
