I knew I hated the phone ..

... but when I realized that one of the very best things about moving was that - my phone doesn't ring - I realized just how much.  I could have kept my old number but the number that was never supposed to be published was, and I was always hearing the ring, looking at caller I.D. and not answering it.  Sometimes when I did answer it I would tell them to take me off their call list but I swear they never did.  I was still getting calls for my Mom - even though she only lived with me for about 2 months in 2010.


My new number?  My son has it, my daughter and her husband have it, and my BF.  That's it.  I will probably give it to the cat clinic and my doctor but beyond that .. nobody is going to have it.  And this number IS non-published.

Aint we got fun?

Today I went up and down the stairs a million times, caught one of the cats when it escaped to the front yard, corralled two of the cats back into the house after they got out into the garage, climbed on top of the washing machine when I realized the water taps connected to it were shut off, fed cats, medicated cats, fed blood worms to the frogs and at some point I took a short nap.

Came back to the old house to get some stuff and the first thing I pulled out of the cabinet - was this.

Talk about something being heaven sent.  You notice - I didn't even wait to take the picture, I used it first.

Some things just can't wait.

Moving is a great reminder

.

Try to keep your belongings to a controlled minimum.  

And maybe someday you won't be faced with trying to box, bag, or very possibly BURN all this stuff when it's time for the movers to come.

Taking two cats to the vet at the same time is not a good idea if:

a) neither have been there in years


b) neither of them are easy to handle


c) either of them thinks a stranger touching them means they should scream like a toddler being sawed in half


d) either of them reacts to a stethoscope by using the twist, writhe, growl and pee tactic


e) neither of them have been vaccinated or examined in a long enough time that you have to spend the amount equal to (but not more than) a Chevy Volt to pay for the appointment
