There was a buzzing and a ruckus and I knew .. there was a bug in the house. A June bug, big ugly beetle thing. Ick. Jake jumped over the back of the couch - "go get 'em Jake!" I always have hope.
She looked like she might be out to get it!
And then there was Norah - watching from a small distance. Um .. never got any closer than that.
And now? The cats are looking at me! ME?!??
Shouldn't they earn their keep by at least keeping the bug count down?
Sheesh!

Well you would think they would want to help out a little. My dogs are after a mole in our back yard. I am starting to think they are doing more damage than the mole. I now have a deep trench running through the middle of the yard where they have tried to dig him out. I am not holding out much hope that they will catch it, but you never know.
Last year I had a cricket in the house that just wouldn't come out of his hiding space. Eventually he did and walked right between Crash and Burn who just sat and watched him. Useless cats.
Morgan would have started batting at it ... I'd have to pull him away so I could get rid of it.
Well, they did try! My teenage ginger cat loves hunting for insects too. He waits by the front door when someone opens it as sometimes insects come in that way. He also managed to get bitten by one just behind his whiskers when he was hunting!
