I really always did want to do a sleep study. And while it was miserable and I felt like I never slept what with all those wires all over me, I was still glad I did it. But I never wished to do it TWICE!
Yeah, got my results today. Mild sleep apnea during non-REM sleep. If there is apnea during non-REM sleep, there is probably more severe apnea during REM sleep. Unfortunately when I had my sleep study, I never got into a good REM stage of sleep. So basically I was barely asleep all night which is how I feel most nights. And they want me to do it again, with something to help me get into REM sleep. Not Ambien but something similar.
Won't have my laptop with me so I won't shop.
One sleep study is cool, two? Cruel and unusual punishment.
But, since I would like to know what it feels like to wake up actually feeling like I have rested, I will do it again. Besides, did you know that if you do not sleep well your metabolism slows down and makes it more difficult to lose weight?
Me neither. And either that's true or these people have already figured me out and know what to tell me to motivate me.

I know a number of people who don't reach rem sleep and are tired a lot of the time. I'm sure you don't want to hear this but apparently it is a problem to be me and the opposite. I fall into Rem sleep stage and wake from it. I think it is great I can have a 4 minute cat nap and be rejuvenated for the next 10 hours. I also fall asleep fast. Oh, got to go I have both grandchildren this morning and the fit is on.
I so hope they can help you figure this out. I know most days I wake up feeling as if I was never really asleep at all. I don't know if I wake up to use the bathroom or if I use the bathroom because I wake up. Either way, it's a problem. Good luck on finding a solution.
Oh I miss good sleep so much. I used to be so good at it!
Them's the breaks when we get older. Perimenopause/menopause is no fun as the hot flushes are also accompanied with poor sleep. Evening primrose oil and brisk walking exercises might help too.
That sounds like not fun. My son has sleep apnea, and has had numerous sleep studies done. He had surgery for sleep apnea a couple of years ago, but it didn't help much. Good luck to you.
Too bad you can't do it in your own bed.
I agree Teena, my own bed would be great! But my cats wouldn't agree. Doggone cats.
Sorry you have to do it again. But your last line about metabolism and motivating you? Cracked me up. Suddenly I have the desire to go back to bed... ;)
