I know you're going to understand this.

When I wrote about the fog and breaking my ankle I forgot to mention an important part. I mean, really important. Probably because I didn’t tell about what happened beyond calling for help.

Of course there was the ride to the hospital and trying to get someone’s attention in the emergency room. Standard stuff. There was the nurse peeling my sock off and exclaiming “oh my
God!” Not good to hear from a medical professional. And then hearing “I can’t get a pulse down here…” that was scary too.

But laying on a gurney with people bustling around and hearing them say to me “okay, we’re going to need to cut off your jeans” brought on more reaction than the pain! "NO-O-O-0-0-0-0-0-0-0!!!"

I was wearing clean underwear, could not have cared less if my legs were shaved at that point, but those jeans? My favorite pair. My favorite pair of jeans that fit me and actually looked good on me, and they were telling me they were going to take a pair of scissors and cut them from waistband to hem.

I needed pain medication for that part more so than when they set the bones. Arg-g-h-h-h!!

I am SO sorry! I totally feel you! I think I would hobble off on my pulse-less, floppy foot rather than let someone ruin my favorite jeans!

Lol! Oh you SO have a way with words!

That would really suck!

It totally did.

Oh holy cripes! Somehow I missed that entry, and just jumped back into your archives. I'm so sorry to hear about your ankle, and your jeans for the love of Pete.

That's okay, it was a number of years ago now. Just telling a story I had not told before. Ankle is great. If I hadn't been on morphine maybe I would have thought to grab those jeans and at least give them a ritual burning or something when I got home. They were great.

You should have made hotpants out of them!

Nah, they cut right through the waistband and all the way down the front of the leg. They totally splayed them open. Even cut my underwear too. :(

Oh, the trauma! That action would have destroyed about 20% of my wardrobe.

i would have problems with that because i don't wear underwear at all. (sorry, was that too much info?)

:-P

Oh no not our favourite jeans!! I had a horse riding accident where they threatened me with it - my face must have told it all - cos they managed to get them off!

OMG! I'm so sorry that I didn't know about your accident. I hope you are recovering well. I will have to tune in more frequently from now on.

I know, the jeans were a huge blow!

Leslie - you haven't missed anything, I was recounting a story from my past. Crutches were horrible at 40, thank God it didn't happen recently!

Oh and Lara? Lol! I may have been upset about the jeans but there is no modesty in the ER. I have no doubt that a lack of panties wouldn't bother you a bit if you were in pain.

Wait, is that a triple negative?

I'm never wearing my favorite jeans again!
