Stuff and such.

*
Is there a food that is like - the Holy Grail of foods for you?  Something you will search high and low for, eat three days in a row if given the opportunity?  Or for breakfast lunch and dinner for two days?  For me it was Stouffer's Noodles Romanoff.  Aw-w-e-s-o-o-m-mmmmmme.  (did I mention this wasn't a discussion of the best thing Grandma used to make?)  And then it was gone.  Every time I went to the store my feet dragged through the frozen section .. always hoping against hope .. but it was never there.  It was probably 3 years later that I finally wrote Stouffers a letter asking the fate of my wonderful noodle dish.
They were so very sorry but - their Noodles Romanoff had been discontinued.  That's a forever thing folks!  I was inconsolable.  But like most things in life, you deal with it.  One foot in front of the other until it doesn't hurt so much.  After all, I still had Stouffer's French Bread Pizza!  Luuuurvve it!

So you can understand my panic after going through the Noodles Romanoff loss, when I wasn't seeing my French Bread Pizza in the stores all of a sudden.  Short of breath, near to tears .. each time I went to a grocery store and looked, fruitlessly .. I was so sad.

And then ... then ... out of the blue after about a 6 month drought ... THEY WERE BACK!!!  I pressed my nose against the glass freezer doors and cried.  Okay maybe I didn't do that part.  But I did buy 2 boxes and have also had jalapeno poppers (the cream cheese kind) for breakfast over the weekend.  Not sure why but those jalapeno poppers are really good for breakfast!

So I may not have my noodles, but there are several copycat recipes out there I might try, and for now I am content with my French Bread Pizzas and my jalapeno poppers.  Some things just have to be there, y'know?  Keeps my world smooooooothh and easy.

Eat up!  And enjoy!

I cooked tonight.

That's all. It's an event unto itself. But, having a day off work and wasting time Stumbling, I came across a recipe that just looked good. So I made it - it is ridiculously easy but actually might make people think I know what I'm doing when I make it!

Er.. a firetruck pulled up outside while I was cooking and I was afraid they had found out I was attempting that activity but no, it wasn't for me. Whew!
Anyway, it's grilled chicken tenderloins (without the grill) and if I can make it, I am sure anyone can. Yum! I found it here.

So far - my son and I are still alive.

** Although I must admit the shock of finding cooked food when he came home from work was almost enough to put Andy away in itself!

Brownies, mud mask, and shopping

I’ve written about how I am an online shopper. I will shop online for almost anything I find myself in need of on the internet. The packages get delivered right to your door, what else could you ask for??

But sometimes I do have to leave my house. Sometimes people make me. Like my daughter. She just keeps asking me until it becomes and assumption and then I am doing it. Today? We went to the mall. Have I mentioned how much I hate the mall? Arg-g-h-h-h!!!

Dani has a wedding to go to and needed a dress and shoes and I was quite impressed with how she managed to find some wonderful things and squeezed those sales until they squeeled. She’s a very good shopper.

While we were there I looked around a bit for a birthday I need to find something for but I start to get hives after a while and just have to leave. The mall and I are not friends.

Arriving home I hopped on the computer and while not finding anything for the birthday I was shopping for – I did find something I didn’t buy – but somebody ought to! I’m one of those people who always grabs the brownie that has at least one chewy edge if I can’t get a corner piece that has 2. I love me some chewy edged brownies. While shopping I found a store named Solutions. And this store has a brownie pan to die for. I hardly ever bake – too many cats and I can’t think of a time when I actually NEED a pan of brownies in my house. If I WANT a pan of brownies – it probably is not a time I should have them.

Now THAT'S a brownie pan!! Every piece is an edge piece, yum!!!

Oh and this? This is what happens when a cat has to check out the mud mask on my face before it's dry.

You just know that later he had to lick that off his nose. Yuk!
